A child’s birthday party turned chaotic after lighting struck.

The children of Paris, France, were celebrating the birthday of their friend who turned 9 years old.

The children were enjoying themselves at the Parc Monceau, until it began raining and lightning suddenly struck.

Eight young children, three men and a woman, were injured. Some had burn wounds and one girl needed to be resuscitated.

A video was uploaded to the Internet, showing the chaotic scene as paramedics rushed to save the injured children and adults.

The dramatic footage shows how a bank near the park was being used as a makeshift hospital to treat those who were struck by the lightning.

The children were wrapped in gold thermal blankets as they were laid on the tiled floor of the bank while emergency workers administered first aid to stabilize them before transporting them to hospitals in the city.

Professor Pierre Carli, director of the Necker hospital, said that one child is in a very serious condition. She required resuscitation and she is on life support.
