A man was arrested on a charge of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal after feeding his dog marijuana and cutting off both its ears, according to police in the United Kingdom.

Now, 34-year-old Christopher Matthew Griffiths of Wrexham, has been found guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal in connection with the attack on his dog Victor.

Griffiths claimed that a man broke into his home, knocked him unconscious and cut off his dog’s ears, but a neighbor testified that this was not what happened.

Neighbor Mark Owen Jones told the court that he heard Victor screaming, and immediately looked out of his apartment window.

Jones saw Griffiths trying to remove the dog’s muzzle and asked for scissors from a neighbor. Griffiths then kneeled on the dog and rose, holding what looked like cloth in his hands.

Police officers arrived at the property, and found Victor’s ears cut off. They also found the scissors used to cut off the dog’s ears.

Police noticed a broken window and garbage strewn around the front of the house. The dog was taken to a veterinarian, who confirmed that Victor had cocaine in his system.
