(Scroll down for video) A woman was arrested for reporting her daughter missing after hiding the girl at her boyfriend's home.

Police in Sacramento, California, said that the mother falsely reported that her 10-year-old daughter, Laprea Lee, disappeared in order to teach the child’s father a lesson.

Shavaughn Vaugn, 43, made the police report at 1:00 p.m., saying that her daughter's father, Don Lee, had taken her on a camping trip over the weekend and she was missing.

Police said that Vaugn was upset the her daughter’s grandfather dropped her off at her home after the weekend without supervision as she was not home.

There were no signs of violence and Vaugn told officers that when she returned home, her daughter Laprea was nowhere to be found.

Police searched for the child for 10 hours. The department said that they used a lot of resources to find the 10-year-old girl. The girl’s father said that he was very distressed about the missing child.

At 11:00 p.m., police received a tip from an out of town family member, saying that the child was safe and she was at the home of her mother’s boyfriend.

Police said that the family member told them that Vaugn and her boyfriend, 44-year-old Antwan Holliday, staged the entire incident.

Their intention was to make it look like Don Lee had something to do with the disappearance of Laprea, police said.

After the girl was found, both Vaugn and Holliday were arrested on charges of false report of an emergency, obstructing/delaying police and conspiracy.
