A young man was charged with murder after a woman died when he broke into her home.

24-year-old Carlton Young of Maine, has been charged with felony murder after a grandmother suffered a heart attack when he allegedly broke into her house and tried to rob her.

Young faces 30 years in prison for the death of 62-year-old Connie Loucks, after he and three others allegedly broke into her house in Wells.

Along with murder, Young was charged with felony attempt to commit a crime, and four felony counts each of burglary and theft.

Authorities said that Young was part of a gang of thieves who broke into houses and burglarized them.

Loucks, who suffered from heart disease, was so frightened when Young and his accomplices entered her home that she had a heart attack, according to state Attorney General's Office spokesperson Timothy Feeley.

Young was booked into the York County jail. He is being held on $30,000 bail. Authorities are still investigating his accomplices, but so far, they have not charged.
