11-hour-long standoff ends after police bust open door and find empty house

Police in Michigan, were called to a home on a report of a domestic violence dispute.

A woman told a police dispatcher that her husband stabbed her.

The woman called 911 to report that she was stabbed by her husband when she demanded a divorce after just 6 weeks of marriage.

After officers arrived at the home and did not get an answer, they called for backup as they believed that the man inside was armed.

A SWAT team arrived along with robots and tear gas at the Redford Township home after 12:00 a.m.

Officers issued an alert at around 2:30 a.m., warning residents of the danger. Officers blocked off several streets of the Winston and Acacia neighborhood.

After the 11-hour standoff, when police were still unable to make contact with the people inside the home, they stormed the residence only to find that it was empty.

Police are looking for the couple as the investigation is ongoing.
