Police were called to a hostage situation in a Walmart in Texas.
The SWAT team learned that an employee took his manager and another employee hostage.
The team entered Walmart in Amarillo, and shot 45-year-old Mohammad Moghaddam. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said that Moghaddam was angry over a missed promotion. He entered the store about 11:00 a.m., and fired a shot towards the ceiling.
He then took the manager into the office, and held him and another employee hostage. They were not injured during the police shooting, which killed Moghaddam.
After the incident, the two SWAT officers who fired shots and killed the suspect, were placed on administrative leave.
Authorities said that this is normal protocol as the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
