A frustrated woman of the United kingdom, published a rant on Facebook, after buying the largest size pants at the H&M clothing retailer only to find out later that it does not close around her hips.
25-year-old Ruth Clemens of Leeds, was browsing the sale items and spotted a pair of kick flare jeans.
They were only 10 pounds ($14) and a size 16. When she tried them on, it did not go well. The pants did not close around her hips.
Clemens complained that she usually buys size 14 pants, and size 16 is the largest carried by H&M.
H&M does have a range of plus size clothes, but they are very limited and does not come in the range of styles for the fashion-conscious that are available in smaller sizes.
Clemens posted photos of herself with the pants, showing that she is not overweight. She is 5 foot 11 inches tall and sports an average waist size.
Clemens cannot understand why H&M is making jeans that are unrealistically small. After the rant went viral on Facebook, H&M responded and apologized.
“Hi Ruth. Thank you so much for your feedback. We are sorry to hear about your experience in our store recently. We always want our customers to have an enjoyable time when shopping in store and to leave feeling confident in themselves.
“At H&M we make clothing for all our stores around the world, so the sizing can vary depending on the style, cut and fabric. We value all feedback and will take on board the points you and other customers have raised,” H&M wrote on Facebook.
Her rant received 83,000 reactions, 10,000 shares and 8,500 comments.
