Police are looking to arrest a man on a charge of murder after allegedly killing his son-in-law who married his daughter without permission, according to police in Pakistan.

Burewala police said that the father-in-law and brothers-in-law of 43-year-old Muhammad Irshad, attacked while he was visiting his parents on Friday.

Irshad fled from the city after marrying Mussarat Bibi, because he was afraid that his in laws might kill him as they refused to give his permission to marry his lover.

He came back to the city this week, to visit his elderly parents.

When the father-in-law learned that Irshad was around, he grabbed a knife, located him and slit his throat.

Irshad died at the scene. Police are looking for the three suspects, but so far, no arrests have been made.
