Police were called to a busy McDonald's, after a man committed suicide by shooting himself in the head in the bathroom, according to police in New York.
The New York Police Department said that the 40-year-old man, who was not identified, left behind a suicide note, which was found after he killed himself.
According to the police investigation, the incident unfolded on Tuesday at the McDonald's located on East 42nd Street in Midtown Manhattan.
A suicide note was found in the bathroom next to the man's dead body. It stated that he was too old and very lonely.
Employees found his body shortly after 12:00 p.m., just 40 minutes after the man ordered food at the restaurant. Security camera video shows the man eating his meal before going into the bathroom.
He pulled out a .22 caliber pistol and shot himself in the head.
The restaurant is one block from Grand Central Station. He was declared dead at the scene.
