A man was arrested on a charge of homicide after being accused of killing his elderly father while trying to spin the wheels of a 1978 Ford car, according to police in Ohio.
Now, 55-year-old Brian Naylor of Cleveland, has been sentenced to serve 6 and a half years in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide in connection with the deaths of his father, 77-year-old Delmar Naylor, and his father’s best friend, 61-year-old Thomas Beaune.
In addition to aggravated vehicular homicide, Naylor also pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular assault and driving under the influence.
According to the police investigation, Naylor was drunk when he tried to spin the wheels of his modified 1978 Ford Pinto in the driveway of his home.
He lost control of the car, which tore through the driveway and into the house, where Delmar and Beaune were relaxing. The victims suffered serious injuries and were taken to the hospital.
Both later died of their wounds.
