Suspect setting fires to portable toilets at schools

(Scroll down for video) A fire department in Washington, announced that they are looking to arrest a suspect who is behind numerous arson attacks against schools.

The Renton Fire & Emergency Services is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an arsonist who has been active since late last year.

There have been eight arson fires at public schools, resulting in close to $30,000 in damages.

“We are always concerned when we have an arsonist or arsonists setting fires in our community,” said Fire Chief Mark Peterson.

“Citizens can help stop this by leaving house lights on at night, storing combustible materials in a secure location and reporting suspicious activities to police,” he added.

In the first incident, a porta-potty at the Lindbergh High School was set on fire, causing damage of $12,000.

In the second incident, two vans located in a parking lot at the Lindbergh High School, were set on fire, causing an estimated damage of $11,100.

In another incident, a porta-potty at the Lindbergh High School was set on fire, causing an estimated damage of $1,000. In another incident, a porta-potty at the Renton Park Elementary was set on fire.

In addition to setting fire to another two porta-potties, the suspect set fire to three storage containers belonging to schools.
