(Scroll down for video) Family members of a teen who died in a car accident, were shocked to receive photos, showing the lifeless body of their loved one at the scene of the crash in Alabama.

15-year-old David Smith and his girlfriend, 14-year-old Autumn Thompson, died after 18-year-old Daniel Hornsby, struck the guardrail of the Osanippa Creek Bridge, along County Road 299 in Cusseta.

Another teen who survived the car crash, took photos of Smith and shared them on social media websites. The images then reached Smith’s family members, including his uncle, Casey Cunningham.

Cunningham said that the images were graphic and disturbing, and that was not the way he wanted to find out about his nephew's death.

According to the police investigation, Hornsby drove a 2013 Kia Soul on Tuesday, when he hit the guardrail of the bridge. Smith and Thompson were not wearing seat belts, and the two were thrown from the vehicle.

The third teen who took the photos, survived the crash. The cause of the accident remains under investigation, and so far, no charges have been filed.
