Fontana police said that they have arrested 21-year-old Isaiah Nathaniel Sais, after his dog suffered seizures and convulsions due to meth consumption.

Sais was charged with one count of animal cruelty. He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center, and his bail was set at $50,000.

According to the police investigation, the Chihuahua named Jack Sparrow, suffered from seizures and convulsions when Sais brought him to the emergency center on Tuesday.

When the dog tested positive for meth, Sais left the building with it, declining the request of the vet to treat Sparrow.

Fontana Animal Services went to the dog’s home shortly after that and seized it. It was still suffering and showing other signs of neglect.

Sparrow is recovering in an animal hospital.
