A man was arrested on a charge of assault after shooting at a little boy because he brought home a crab following visitation with his father, according to police in Pennsylvania.

Now, 31-year-old Mario Maisonet of Nazareth, has been sentenced to serve up to a year in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

According to the police investigation, Maisonet was not happy when the 10-year-old son of his fiancee brought home a hermit crab after spending time with his father Christian Roman.

Maisonet admitted to firing a shot in the direction of the child and the child’s father. No injuries were reported. Maisonet claimed that he thought Roman was going to pull out a gun so he pulled out his gun and fired.

Judge F.P. Kimberly McFadden told Maisonet that what he did was ridiculous, and warned him never to do such a dumb thing again.
