(Scroll down for video) Police launched an investigation after several tourists were left bleeding, following a dispute over a tip to a topless performer, according to police in New York.

The New York Police Department said that the incident unfolded on Wednesday, at the newly designated activity zone in Times Square, where it is legal for performers to ask for tips.

Francisco Vistoso, 48, and his brother-in-law, Abelordo Nunez, 48, took photos with a topless woman, and gave her $1 as a tip. The performer was not happy, and asked for more money.

When they refused her request, she called her manager, who started arguing with the tourists.

Witnesses at the scene, said that the woman and her two managers confronted the tourists and asked for more money, which is illegal.

One of the managers then insulted the tourists and punched them in the face, leaving them bleeding. The managers left the scene before police decided to file assault charges against them.
