A man was arrested on a charge of battery after allegedly holding a gun to his girlfriend's head because she was feeding their baby breast milk from another woman, according to police in Florida.

St. Augustine police said that they have arrested 29-year-old Kevin Smith, after the victim’s mother saw him holding a gun to her daughter’s head while she was breastfeeding her baby.

Smith was charged with battery, child neglect and obstructing justice. He was booked into the St. Johns County jail, and his bail was set at $12,500.

According to the police investigation, when the victim's mother came home from work, she heard her 22-year-old daughter and boyfriend fighting on Wednesday around 11:30 p.m.

She went to her daughter’s bedroom, where she saw Smith holding a gun to her daughter’s head while she was breastfeeding her baby.

Smith was angry that his girlfriend was feeding the newborn breast milk from another woman.

Smith tried to grab the baby from the arms of his girlfriend while she fed the infant, but the woman refused to give him the child.

The mother left the home with her daughter and infant, and called the police.
