14-year-old boy steals car for joyride before crashing it killing his 12-year-old girlfriend in the process

A boy was arrested on a charge of criminal negligence causing death after allegedly stealing a car and driving around with a young girl before crashing it and killing her, according to police in Canada.
Ontario police said that they have arrested the 14-year-old boy, who was not identified, after crashing the stolen car into a brick wall at the entrance of a day camp.
The boy was charged with criminal negligence causing death, dangerous driving causing death and possession of stolen property worth more than $5,000.
According to the police investigation, the incident unfolded in Tuesday morning around 4:00 a.m. on Hurontario Street, after the boy stole the vehicle for a joyride from the Loafer’s Lake Recreation Centre.
The car had been traveling north when it suddenly turned left, hitting a pole and then crashing into a fence. The vehicle, a Toyota SUV, then hit a brick wall that marked the entrance to Teen Ranch Canada, which is a day camp.
As a result of the crash, to car was totally destroyed. The 12-year-old girl died at the scene while the boy was rushed to a hospital, where he is being treated.
“Day camps are canceled for the day due to an accident that occurred this morning on Highway 10. No one from Teen Ranch Canada was involved,” the day camp wrote on Twitter.
The boy and girl were friends, and they were known to police.
