Man proposes marriage to girlfriend while bleeding after being stabbed by man who made comment about 12-year-old daughter’s body
(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested on a charge of battery after allegedly stabbing a tourist during a fight, which led to the victim proposing marriage to his girlfriend, according to police in Florida.
Daytona Beach police said that they have arrested 33-year-old John Debow, after being accused of stabbing 35-year-old Steven Worthington of Kentucky, following a dispute over a comment made by the suspect about the victim's 12-year-old daughter.
Debow was charged with aggravated battery causing bodily harm. He was taken to the hospital after stabbing himself during the attack on Worthington.
After recovering from surgery, Debow will be booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail.
According to the police investigation, Worthington was walking on the street with his girlfriend and 12-year-old daughter when Debow made a comment about the child’s body.
Worthington heard the comment and asked Debow what he said about his daughter. Debow then replied with an expletive.
Worthington pushed Debow, causing him to hit a kiosk. Debow then pulled a knife and cut Worthington’s left arm. Worthington pushed Debow again, causing the suspect to cut himself in the arm.
Worthington then proposed to his girlfriend Allison Crowe, saying that it was the perfect moment because how could anyone say no to a bleeding man.
