Thieves save life of dog in hot car after breaking car window to steal laptop

(Scroll down for video) A group of thugs unknowingly saved the life of a dog that was locked in a hot car for one hour.

The owner of the Irish Nobleman Pub in Chicago, Illinois, shared surveillance video, showing how a dog was saved by a group of thieves.

The video shows the moment the driver of an SUV drove into a parking spot and left a German shepherd inside the hot vehicle at around 9:12 a.m. on Monday.

A few minutes later, the group of men appear and they walked past the truck. The spotted a laptop computer in the vehicle and they decided to steal it.

Moments later, the group walked back to the truck and used a rock to smash the window. They snatched the computer from the front seat and they fled.

It is unclear whether they saw the dog in the back seat, but breaking truck window provided the amount of fresh air needed for the dog to stay alive.

About an hour later, around 10:15 a.m., the owner of the truck returned and found the broken glass on the floor.

After a few minutes, he let the dog out of his hot truck. The dog was reportedly exhausted from the ordeal of being inside the his SUV without too much air.

The heat index on Monday morning, was about 82 degrees.

The video of the incident has been shared with the police and they will decided whether to charge the dog owner with animal cruelty.
