An Imam in Turkey, was fired from a mosque after the Religious Affairs Directorate learned that he was hospitalized with pieces of cucumber stuck in his rear end.

The 39-year-old man, who was not identified, was taken to the hospital with severe abdominal pain and bleeding earlier this month.

After being checked by doctors, it was discovered that the bleeding was the result of a foreign object in his rectum.

Doctors then removed pieces of cucumber from the Imam’s rear end. The Imam did not say how the cucumber ended up in his behind.

The Istanbul Chamber of Physicians and the Istanbul Chamber of Doctors’ Human Rights Commission criticized the Religious Affairs Directorate, saying that it is a crime to leak medical records of a patient and the Imam should not have been fired as a result of the information, which was received illegally.

Violations of these rights can prevent people with different sexual practices, especially those who are public employees, to seek medical assistance, the human rights commission said.
