(Scroll down for video) In a shocking case of domestic violence, a man hacked off both of his wife’s hands with a machete.

Stephen Ngila brutally attacked his wife, Jackline Mwende, 27, at their home in Kenya, and she was left with life-altering injuries.

Mwende said that her husband was abusive towards her because she did not conceive during their seven years of marriage.

The couple went to seek help from doctors, who according to Mwende, informed them that her husband was infertile.

Mwende said that she repeatedly went to seek help from her pastor over the abuse she suffered from her husband, and he told her to pray and fight for her marriage.

The couple was separated for three months, but they were working on their relationship. One day, her husband snapped.

He hacked off both of her hands, and slashed her head and abdomen, leaving her with horrific injuries.

After the attack, Pastor Kioko, who was the best man at the couple’s wedding, said that the couple was urged to settle their differences and save their marriage.

“However, we noticed that Ngila was determined to leave. It was agreed that the two live in peace in their separate homes and they should ask the courts to dissolve the marriage because as a church, we don’t end marriages.”

Ngila was arrested on a number of charges.
