Mother kills her 1-year-old daughter by feeding her meth to offset the methadone she consumed earlier

(Scroll down for video) A mother was arrested on a charge of murder after allegedly killing her daughter by feeding her meth, according to police in Arizona.

Phoenix police said that they have arrested 30-year-old Natalie Russell, after being accused of feeding meth to her daughter, 1-year-old Adalynn Russell, after she consumed methadone.

Natalie was charged with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of child abuse. According to the police, officer were called to the home on a report that a child was not breathing.

Paramedics tried to revive the girl, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy revealed that the girl had meth and methadone in her system.

Natalie told investigators that Adalynn may have consumed methadone from an open container. Natalie then researched methadone overdose information online before giving the child methamphetamine.

Natalie’s two other children were handed over to the custody of the Arizona Department of Child Safety.
