(Scroll down for video) A boy was arrested on a charge of causing grievous bodily harm after being accused of pouring acid on five friends because they refused to join him on a train, according to police in the United Kingdom.

Now, 17-year-old Alexander Bassey of Barking, has been sentenced to serve 8 years in prison after pleading guilty to three counts of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) and two charges of attempted GBH.

According to the criminal complaint, in the early hours of Sunday, the five teenage victims were waiting on the platform of the Ockendon station in Essex, when a train heading to Barking pulled in.

As the train was idle at the platform, Bassey approached the group of friends and encouraged them to join him on the train.

The victims had been celebrating at a party together and were waiting for their train home. When the victims refused, Bassey exited the train and approached the group while yelling obscenities at them.

He then exposed a bottle from behind his back and sprayed a highly corrosive substance over the group of friends. He then ran back onto the train.

As a result of the assault, three of the victims received permanent scarring with one left with potentially life changing eye injuries.

All victims have been suffering psychological trauma from the attack. The court was told that Bassey showed absolutely no remorse when questioned by police.
