Holzinger was charged with one count of second-degree murder. He was booked into jail, and his bail was set at $1 million.

If convicted, Holzinger faces up to 40 years in prison.

According to the criminal complaint, on Tuesday around 8:30 p.m., police were called to 165 15th Avenue NE, on a report of a shooting.

Upon arriving at that location, officers saw Brown lying on the sidewalk in a pool of blood. A niece of Brown, was kneeling beside the victim trying to stop the bleeding that was emanating from the victim’s chest.

Paramedics arrived to administer aid to the victim, but were unsuccessful in attempts to revive him. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim suffered two gunshot wounds to his chest. A witness at the scene told police that the victim and his neighbor were in a dispute over a broken lawn mower.

On Tuesday afternoon, Brown and other family members were in the rear of his home grilling hamburgers and eating dinner.

Brown yelled out to Holzinger, who was seated on his porch, and asked him if he wanted a hamburger. Holzinger told the victim to come over and find out.

Brown left his yard and walked toward Holzinger. A few seconds later, gunshots rang out. Holzinger came out of his home and said: “He deserved it. He called me a pedophile. I know I’m going to jail and I don’t care.”

Several days before the incident, Holzinger loaned his lawn mower to Brown, but it was returned broken.
