Man who spent 10 years in prison for killing man in road rage incident is killed in road rage incident after being freed
(Scroll down for video) A widow said that she was happy about the death of her husband’s killer.
However, it was the irony in the way that 40-year-old Gary Durham lost his life that is making headlines.
Durham of Florida, spent a decade in prison after he got into a road rage fight with another driver who nearly hit his car.
During the fight, Durham, then 26, punched Timothy Gibbs, 48, in the face and he fell. Gibbs suffered a head injury, and died.
Durham was sentenced to 10 years in prison for that incident. After he was released from prison, Durham got married and moved on with his life.
However, things took a turn when Durham and Robert Padgett, 42, got into a road rage incident on Dr. MLK Jr. Boulevard at Forbes Road in Plant City, at around 6:30 a.m.
Police said that Durham came out of his Mazda pickup truck, and approached Padgett, who was the driver of a Ford SUV behind him.
Things quickly escalated to violence. Investigators said that Padgett warned Durham before he pulled out a gun, and shot and him.
Police have not yet arrested as they are still investigating whether Padgett was the aggressor.
