Man will not be charged for shooting his neighbor in the neck for beating his own dog

(Scroll down for video) Police were called to a home in Texas, after a man was shot in the neck for beating his dog.

A man in his 60s told police that his 20-year-old neighbor was angry with his dog because it barked all night.

The elderly man of Houston, went over to his neighbor's home on Ringold Street in Acres Homes at 7:00 a.m., and asked the 20-year-old man to stop beating the dog.

According to police, the man refused to stop hurting the animal, and he attacked the 60-year-old man.

According to police, the older man pulled out his gun to defend himself.

The two continued arguing before the 20-year-old man walked into his home. That is when the elderly man fired a shot, hitting the younger man in the neck.

The wounded man was taken to the hospital, where he was treated and released. The dog was not injured.

Houston police said that the shooter will not be charged with a crime as they consider this a case of self defense.
