(Scroll down for video) A woman waited seven months to receive an organ, but after she was prepped and ready for the surgery, she was asked to make a life changing decision.

69-year-old Brenda Jones of Texas, had been struggling with liver failure.

She was placed on a waiting list to get a new liver. Seven months later, she received good news as doctors found her a match.

However, while she was in surgery to get the replacement organ, a crisis emerged. 23-year-old Abigail Flores had suffered complete liver failure and had only hours to live.

The liver that was about to be implanted in Jones, was found to be a match for the young woman, who got married a few months ago.

Doctors said that they did something they have never done before. They asked the older woman, whose life was not in danger, if she would give up the liver to save the life of the younger woman.

Jones agreed. She gave up her liver to Flores, whose surgery was successful and she recovered.

Amazingly, just four days later, Jones received the good news that another liver was found for her.
