(Scroll down for video) The owner of a Lamborghini, filed a complaint with the police in the United Kingdom, after two officers seized the luxury vehicle near the Heathrow Airport, and took it for a joyride above the speed limit.
32-year-old Erwyn Mackee said that police seized his Lamborghini Huracan, which is worth around $250,000, because it did not have insurance.
Mackee claims that he took out insurance earlier that day, but the information was not yet uploaded on the police database.
Mackee, who is the owner of the car rental company City Supercars, has urged people to rent a Lamborghini and have the same experience as the police officers.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police, confirmed that the car did in fact have insurance.
The luxury car’s internal tracking system recorded the officers traveling at a speed between 47 miles per hour and 63 miles per hour on roads where the limit is 30 miles per hour.
The incident unfolded around 1:00 a.m. on Thursday. Police launched an investigation, and the officer who drove the car was given three penalty points on his driver’s license.
A second officer is facing disciplinary actions. Police said that the owner of the vehicle will get back 150 pounds ($193) he was charged for driving without insurance.
