Teen bites off police officer’s ear during fight outside bar

(Scroll down for video) A teenager was arrested on a charge of assault after allegedly biting off a police officer’s ear during a fight, according to police in Massachusetts.

Salem police said that they have arrested 19-year-old Emma Wiley, after being accused of biting off the ear of Officer Jessica Rondinelli.

The Salem State University student was charged with mayhem, assault and battery causing serious bodily injury, assault and battery on a police officer, and resisting arrest.

In court, Wiley pleaded not guilty to the charges, and her attorney said that she suffers from depression, anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

She was booked into jail, where she is being held without bail.

According to the criminal complaint, Officer Rondinelli responded to a report of a fight outside a bar around 1:00 a.m. on Sunday.

The officer identified Wiley as the aggressor and tried to place her into a police cruiser. While Rondinelli was putting Wiley in the cruiser, she bit off the officer’s ear.

Rondinelli was taken to a nearby hospital, but doctors were unable to re-attach the ear.
