(Scroll down for video) Walmart employees are there to help people with their needs, but for one employee, things got a bit awkward.

The Walmart employee in Lancaster, Ohio, spotted a monkey on a leash running loose.

The employee went over to the monkey in order to get hold of its leash and to return it to its owner who was nearby.

However, the monkey that escaped from the camper, seemed to be very happy with its freedom and attacked the Walmart employee.

Richelle Stewart, who saw the incident, said that she recently moved to the area.

She and her husband went to Walmart to buy some paint for her new home when she spotted the unusual site of a monkey in the parking lot.

Stewart took video of the animal attacking the employee. In the video, the monkey's owner was seen quickly running over to stop the attack.

Luckily, no one was hurt during the incident. Stewart posted the video to the Internet, where it went viral, with 468,000 likes and over 5,500 shares.

The Department of Agriculture is investigating the incident, and they are trying to track down the woman and her monkey.

The department said that they are concerned that the monkey may not be registered.
