(Scroll down for video) Police in Japan, launched an investigation after a blind man fell off a train station platform and onto the train tracks, where he was killed by an oncoming train.
Tokyo police said that on Monday, 55-year-old Naoto Shinada was walking along the edge of one of the platforms with a guide dog in the Aoyama-itchome Station when he fell off.
Video from surveillance cameras showed that was not pushed into the train tracks. Shinada tried to avoid a pole that blocked the braille tiles when he fell off.
Although an official at the station pushed an emergency button, there was not enough time to stop the incoming train that hit him.
Shinada was rushed to a hospital, but he died about three hours later. The platform has no safety barriers.
