A driver was arrested on a charge of possession of cocaine after allegedly trying to eat a sock containing cocaine after being pulled over by police, according to police in South Carolina.
Greenwood County police said that they have arrested 44-year-old Arthur Usher, after he was seen driving erratically on a highway.
Usher was charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and resisting arrest. According to the criminal complaint, a driver called police to report a possibly intoxicated driver on Wednesday morning.
Usher was pulled over, and police noticed that his pants were around his ankles. Usher told officers that he was deaf and wrote down his name and license number.
When asked why his clothes were off, he told police that it was hot. Usher was ordered out of the car, and was told to remove his hands from his pockets, but he ignored the commands.
As officers tried to force the hands out of his pockets, Usher pulled out a sock and tried to put it in his mouth. Officers used a stun gun to stop Usher from swallowing the sock.
A substance inside the sock tested positive for cocaine.
