(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested on a charge of murder after being accused of cutting of his wife’s head in front of their young children, according to police in Texas.
Bellmead police said that they have arrested 23-year-old Davie Dauzat, after being accused of cutting off the head of 21-year-old Natasha Dauzat, and placing it in the freezer of their home.
In court, Davie pleaded not guilty to one count of murder. He was booked into the McLennan County Jail, and his bail was set at $500,000.
According to the criminal complaint, On Thursday around 8:30 a.m., Davie's brother called police, asking them to check on the couple after Davie asked him strange questions.
When police arrived, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. They appeared calm and expressed curiosity about why the police were there.
The brother called again at 11:00 a.m., and reported that Davie killed his wife. Police officers arrived at the scene, but Davie barricaded himself in the home for two hours.
He then emerged from his home covered with blood and confessed to killing his wife in front of their 3-year-old and 1-year-old children.
The children were handed over to the custody of a relative.
