Boy kills 10 birds by breaking their necks

(Scroll down for video) A boy was arrested on a charge of endangering animals after allegedly killing ten birds at a campsite, according to police in Canada.

Kingston police said that they have arrested the 17-year-old boy, who was not identified, after the owner of the campsite found him in a chicken coop along with the dead birds.

In court, the boy pleaded not guilty to 10 counts of injuring or endangering animals. If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison.

The boy was released to the custody of his parents.

According to the police investigation, the incident unfolded at the Rideau Acres Campground on Cunningham Road on Saturday.

Around 9:00 p.m., the owner of the campsite went into the bird coop to check on them. He was shocked to see the boy holding a dead chicken and pigeons in his hands.

He then saw another eight dead birds on the ground. All birds died of broken necks.
