A man was arrested on a charge of causing injury to an animal after allegedly stabbing a dog that took away French fries from his dog, according to police in Canada.
Brockville police said that they have arrested the 40-year-old man, who was not identified, after two dogs fought over several French fries.
The man was charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and causing damage or injury to an animal.
According to the police investigation, the incident unfolded in front of the Giant Tiger discount store located on Central Avenue around 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
The two dog owners were in the parking lot when the owner of a hot dog stand threw some French fries to the small dog. While the small dog was eating his fries, the larger dog approached and tried to tack away the fries.
That is when the owner of the small dog pulled out a knife and began stabbing the larger dog. The larger dog was taken to an animal hospital, where it is said to be in stable condition.
