A woman and her friends were seriously injured after crashing a car into a van while inhaling laughing gas, according to police in the United Kingdom.
Now, 21-year-old Jordanna Best of Carrington, has been sentenced to serve 20 months in prison after being convicted of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
She was also banned from driving for the next 34 months.
According to the police investigation, Best was driving the wrong way on Manchester Road, around 11:15 p.m., with an inflated balloon in her mouth.
She was inhaling laughing gas and became impaired before she collided head on with a van.
As a result of the collision, the van driver received cuts and bruises, one of her passengers received a fractured vertebra and injuries to her liver, and the second passenger suffered broken ribs.
The passengers were identified as Harrison Oldfield and Lauren Best. Jordanna Best suffered fractured ribs and a collapsed lung.
Jordanna works as a mental health nurse.
