Suicidal tour bus driver sets himself on fire killing 26 passengers

(Scroll down for video) A tour bus driver who wanted to commit suicide, set himself on fire, causing the death of all his passengers, according to police in Thailand.

Taoyuan police said that 53-year-old Su Ming-cheng, decided to take his own life after being charged with sexual assault.

According to the police investigation, Su Ming-cheng was driving a group of tourists from Dalian, China, while he was under the influence of alcohol.

At some point, Su Ming-cheng poured gasoline on himself and started a fire with a cigarette lighter. He and the bus were quickly engulfed in flames.

The bus then crashed into a steel barrier. All 26 passengers died at the scene.

Earlier that day, Su Ming-cheng placed five bottles of gasoline in the driver's compartment, suggesting that the fuel was stored in such a way to cause a huge explosion.

An emergency exit was locked, which trapped people on board.

Su Ming-cheng was a regular drinker with a history of violence.

Su Ming-cheng left behind his wife and three children.
