Samsung recalls Galaxy Note 7 phones after exploding inside Jeep while charging causing vehicle to burst into flames

(Scroll down for video) Samsung and fire officials in Florida, have launched an investigation after a Galaxy Note 7 exploded while charging inside a Jeep, causing the vehicle to burst into flames.

Nathan Dornacher of St. Petersburg, said that the incident unfolded on Monday, as he was preparing to drive his Jeep to the pet food store with his dog.

He and his wife Lydia Dornacher, said that they went into their home for a few minutes, and left their Galaxy Note 7 charging in the jeep with the air conditioner running.

When the stepped outside, they found their jeep engulfed in flames. Firefighters who arrived at the scene, extinguished the flames, but the Jeep was a total loss.

Lydia Dornacher wrote on Facebook: “Not the barbecue I wanted on my day off. We go to a garage sale to grab a desk for Bonnie, get back to the house to unload the car, and leave it running with air condition on to keep the car cool.

“We were planning on grabbing the dog and Bonnie, and head to Petco. I head back out to the car to grab my phone, which was on the charger, go to open the door and see flames inside.”

Samsung has recalled all Galaxy Note 7 phones, and will exchange them with another model.
