A young girl freaked out after finding a large spider baked into a cookie that her mother bought at an ALDI supermarket in New York.

Eric Sowa and his wife Elizabeth of Lindenhurst, said that the incident unfolded on Thursday, after their 9-year-old daughter came home from school and asked for a snack.

Eric opened a box of Benton’s cookies and gave her one, but she was horrified to see a large spider baked into her snack. They contacted ALDI, but they were only offered a $5 coupon as compensation.

Eric said that the offer is laughable, and his daughter is very upset since she almost ate a spider cookie.

A spokesperson for the company said that the box of cookies was under the ALDI Double Guarantee, which promises to replace the product and refund the purchase price of any product if a customer is not 100 percent satisfied.

The supermarket chain also launched an investigation to find out why the spider appeared in the cookie.
