The man of South Carolina, was arrested after the girl gave birth to his child, according to the Spartanburg County police.

Detectives said that 29-year-old Derrick Kendall Burris, began sexually assaulting the girl when she was just 10 years old, and he accidentally got her pregnant when she was 11 years old.

The girl, who is now 12 years old, gave birth to her baby four months ago.

Authorities said that the victim told a school counselor that she got pregnant by someone closer to her age because she was afraid to tell her mother the truth.

However, she finally admitted that Burris was the man who got her pregnant. Burris knew the victim. She is a family member of his acquaintance.

After the baby was born, DNA samples from the victim, baby and Burris, showed that he is the child's father, deputies said.

Burris was charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor. During his bond hearing, he told the judge that he wanted to waive his rights to have an attorney present.

However, the judge responded by saying: “shut up, don’t talk in here.” Burris than stormed out of the courtroom and back into police custody.

The judge said that Burris will not get bail as he faces 25 years to life in prison.

Burris is no stranger to the prison system. Court records show that Burris was convicted of two charges of armed robbery in 2004, and he was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
