Police in Australia, have released photos, showing the injuries that an elderly woman suffered at the hands of would-be female robber.
83-year-old Lorrette Doueihi was walking along Nuwarra Rd, Moorebank, at 8:00 a.m., when she was approached by a woman.
The woman, who is believed to be in her 20s, pushed Doueihi to the ground and attempted to steal her handbag. However, the brave grandmother fought back and refused to become a victim of a robbery.
The would-be-thief eventually gave up and ran away empty-handed.
Good Samaritans came to the elderly woman’s aid and helped her up from the ground.
Emergency services took the grandmother to a hospital, where it was discovered that she suffered facial injuries and extensive bruising to her face.
Police are asking to help them identify the suspect, who was described as being a Caucasian woman between 20 to 30 years old. She was wearing dark clothing and boots, and was possibly carrying a backpack.
