(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested on a charge of murder after allegedly killing his teenage sister because she married a convert to Islam, according to police in Pakistan.
Lahore police said that they have arrested Mubeen Rajhu, after being accused of killing his 18-year-old sister identified as Tasleem.
Rajhu shot his sister in the head because she married a man who converted to Islam. The husband of the murdered teen, who used to be a Christian, fled from the city as people threatened to kill him as well.
Several Christians have complained that they are being harassed since the killing of Tasleem.
Rajhu told investigators that he loved his sister, but wanted to protect his family's dignity after he was insulted by his friends and coworkers.
His coworkers told him he should kill her. They taunted him every day at work until he confronted his sister. Rajhu pleaded with his sister to leave her husband, but she did not listen to him.
Eventually, he shot her once in the head. Rajhu claimed that he had no choice but to kill her. At one point, Rajhu wanted to kill himself, but he chose to kill his sister instead to protect his family’s honor.
