A man was arrested after getting into a car and threatening the driver by claiming he is armed.
Nicholas Foreman, 36, got into a vehicle and demanded that the driver take him to a Wendy’s restaurant.
Garrett Loughry told police that Foreman approached him before 4:55 a.m. on Sunday, at a DeLand-area gas station, and demanded he drive him to Wendy’s.
When he refused, Foreman placed his hand on his waistband to scare the driver into believing that he was armed with a gun.
Fearing for his life, Loughry complied with Foreman’s request. The suspect got into the car and asked to be taken to a 7-Eleven instead of Wendy’s.
When they reached their destination, the suspect demanded that Loughry should get out of his car so that he give him a goodbye hug.
“The victim advised us that he obliged due to being in fear of the defendant,” the officer wrote in the report.
Foreman was arrested and his bail was set at $11,000.
