(Scroll down for video) A father asked someone to record the moment he told his young son the worst news ever.

Brenden Bickerstaff-Clark from Youngstown, Ohio, had the difficult task of telling his son that his mother had died of an overdose of heroin.

Many people have criticized the father for making the painful moment and raw emotions of his 8-year-old son Cameron public for the world to see.

However, Bickerstaff-Clark said that he hopes that this tragedy will help other drug users get help so that their children do not have to suffer the pain of losing their parent.

In the video, Bickerstaff-Clark sat with his son and a family friend as they broke the terrible news to the 8 year old.

“I have something to tell you, OK? Mommy died last night,” Bickerstaff-Clark told his son.

“What? What do you mean, my mom? How?” Asked the shocked and confused boy.

“From drugs,” Bickerstaff-Clark replied. The boy broke down and cried.

Bickerstaff-Clark posted the video to Facebook, and he wrote: “This is for any and every addict with children. Today, I had to tell my 8-year-old son that his mommy died from a drug overdose.

“This is the realization and reality of our disease. Don’t let this disease have to make someone tell your child that you’re dead because of drugs.

“This was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. My son has no mother because of heroin. Please get help so our children don’t have to suffer.”

Bickerstaff-Clark said that he is a recovering addict with 94 days clean today.
