(Scroll down for video) A man is very grateful to a hotel manager after he saved his dog from a horrific death.
Ben Duke, who is the general manager at The Roadway Inn in Greenville, South Carolina, said that he is grateful that he was able to save the dog.
Duke was coming out of a storage area in the hotel as one of his guests was getting into the elevator with his dog on a leash.
As the doors closed, the dog had wandered out of the elevator. Duke realized that the dog was pulled by its leash towards the elevator.
He sprang into action. “I just grabbed it, and struggled with it, then I guess adrenaline set in, I snapped the leash right above my hand,” Duke said.
Thankfully, Duke was able to save the pet named Boo Boo, from strangulation.
He explained that the dog was scared and scratched on his face.
The dog’s owner came down in tears. “He was crying and was so grateful,” Duke said. “He just came up and hugged me. It was pretty crazy,” he added.
Duke told a friend about what happened, and the friend asked him if he has a video. He reviewed the surveillance camera in that area.
He showed the video to his friend, who suggested that he make it public.
Duke posted the video on his Facebook page, where it went viral with people calling him a hero. Although Duke doesn’t see himself as a hero, he is very happy that he was able to save the dog.
