A police officer was arrested on a charge of rape after being accused of raping children including a four year old, according to police in the United Kingdom.
Now, 43-year-old Peter Bunyan of Cornwall, has been sentenced to serve 24 years in prison after being convicted of three counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
His two victims were aged below five and seven. Bunyan has also been jailed for having sex with vulnerable women.
Bunyan worked as a PCSO (police community support officer) when the sexual assaults were carried out over a four year period.
Bunyan was wearing his uniform during the attacks. Medical tests suggested that girls were physically injured during the assaults.
The court heard how the victims engaged in self-harm as a result of the attacks.
