Lakeland police said that they have arrested 22-year-old Logan Badgley, after trying to pay for Taco Bell food using his mother’s debit card, which had no money.
In court, Badgley pleaded not guilty to one count of aggravated assault. He was booked into the Shelby County jail, and his bail was set at $5,000.
According to the criminal complaint, on Saturday night, Badgley argued with his mother because he wanted to use her debit card to purchase fast food at Taco Bell.
His mother told him that there was no money in the account, but Badgley took the card and went to the restaurant. Badgley soon returned to the family home, where he confronted his mother.
He was angry because the purchase was declined. Badgley grabbed a hockey stick and hit his mother on the left side of the head.
The mother fell on the floor, where she lost consciousness.
Badgley admitted that he consumed a few alcoholic drinks before the confrontation.
