(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested on a charge of abuse of a corpse after allegedly keeping the body of his dead friend under his bed following a drug overdose, according to police in Pennsylvania.

Hopewell police said that they have arrested 36-year-old Donald Teaford, after being accused of leaving the body of his dead friend under his bed for more than a week.

In court, Teaford pleaded not guilty to one count of abuse of a corpse. He was booked into the Beaver County jail, and his bail was set at $100,000.

According to the police investigation, 34-year-old Justin Cogan died of a heroin overdose last week. Instead of calling for help, Teaford wrapped the body in garbage bags and stashed it under his bed.

After a week, Teaford’s roommate told a friend about the body under the bed. Police were called, and officers found the body under Teaford’s bed.

Teaford tried to mask the smell of the decomposing corpse by using perfume. Toxicology tests were taken, and police are waiting for the results to confirm that the death was an accident.
