A boy was arrested on a charge of assault after allegedly cutting his teacher with an art knife in class, according to police in Texas.
Leander police said that they have arrested 17-year-old Ryland Alexander Gonzalez, after being accused of cutting his teacher who told him to stop stabbing a foam dinosaur.
Gonzalez was charged with one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against a public servant. If convicted, he faces up to 99 years in prison.
He was booked into the Williamson County Jail, and his bail has been set at $15,000.
According to the criminal complaint, Gonzalez was a student in the teacher’s art class on Thursday, when she saw him stabbing a Styrofoam dinosaur.
The teacher told Gonzalez to give her the knife, but instead, he confronted her with the knife in his hand. The teacher then grabbed the knife by the handle, but Gonzalez pulled it away and cut into her hand three times.
She began to bleed profusely, and ended up going to a hospital.
