(Scroll down for video) A teenager was arrested on a charge of murder after allegedly beating his grandmother to death because she took away his beer, according to police in Florida.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said that they have arrested 18-year-old Dylan Brougham, in connection with the beating death of 69-year-old Joyce Ann Courson.

Brougham has been charged with aggravated battery and murder.

The teen’s mother, Tracey Lynn Brougham, said that she does not believe her son deserves to be in prison because he did not really want to kill her mother.

According to the police invitation, on Monday, when the teen went into the bathroom to take a shower, Courson took her grandson’s beer and hid it.

When Dylan came out of the shower and realized that his beer was gone, he became violent. He punched holes in the wall and threw his grandmother to the ground.

He then punched and kicked her in her home located in the 3200 block of Ashridge Circle. She was taken to a hospital, where she died of her injuries.
